The reason this Speech Workshop is so important...

Speech is integrated into everything we do in school, work and life. Those who have the basic skills of being able to communicate in front of others have a distinct advantage in whatever field of influence God has placed them. As a believer in Jesus Christ, you will find yourself in front of groups more than most. There are times you will be leading a small group, teaching a Bible study, giving a testimony, reporting on a mission trip or raising funds for organizations and activities that you are involved with.

Basic Speech Workshop June 22 to 26

All levels of speakers will benefit from these workshops. The topics covered will include:

Vocal Delivery:

Our voice is obviously a very important part of our speech. So we should learn how to use it. Vocal control is as important as the very words we use.

Physical Delivery:

Giving a speech is a very physical activity. It is important to learn to control our physical movements from subtle gestures to moving around the platform. We will cover how, when and what to move, as well as how and what to keep still.

Writing the Speech:

A speech is not the same thing as an essay or a research paper. We will cover the factors that go into developing and organizing the speech. We will examine some famous speeches and search out their secrets.

Dealing with Fear:

In all of the list of what people fear, the fear of public speaking consistently comes in as number one! We will examine several strategies for dealing with this fear. We will learn how to use the nervous energy fear creates to our advantage.
