Dana taught a World View Class for four years in a private Christian High School. This course was primarily based on Francis Schaeffer's works as is the World Views of the Western World curriculum. Upon meeting David Quine in 1988 Dana was immediately impressed with David's approach to integrating world view studies with the core high school curriculum. Before the Curriculum actually went to press in 1996, Dana started a Year 1 class. He now teaches the World View Classes full time .

Dana has been involved in education since 1982. After graduating from Dallas Bible College, he taught High School for four years. Shortly after starting to home school his own children he and his wife Ellen founded the Richardson Home School Association in 1988 and was president for 4 years. Dana founded the North Texas Home Educator's Network (NTHEN) in 1989 and served as president for 2 years. NTHEN is an association of Home School Support Groups in the North Texas area. He served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) from 1991 to 1999. While Dana was serving the home school community, his day job was working as a Technical Operations Manager and systems engineer for a major telecommunications company. He has continued his involvement in education by working nights as an instructor for Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services, and by teaching World View and Math classes for High School Students.

Dana has appeared on numerous radio and television shows speaking on behalf of home schooling. He regularly speaks at home school conventions, book fairs, and support groups. He also speaks at home school and private school graduations. And in his spare time Dana has written, directed and acted in a number of civic and church theatrical productions.
